Dear Sir/Madam,

 

Matariki should be a public holiday.

 

Matariki is a new year and it is a time for moving on to the Future.

 It is important for the Maori people, as it’s the start of A new year them in their culture.

This a time for them to regroup with  friends and remember those who have passed.

To celebrate People Light fires to firewell the Dead. 

Example people watch stars eat food and sleep with family.
